Fellowship

Introductory Statement on Fellowship:

As Christians, we are called to be in fellowship with God the Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Once God has begun the “good work” of salvation in us, Christians must desire and nurture fellowship with other believers. True fellowship with God allows us to be “cleansed of our sins” and “walk in the light” of His word and love.

        ( 1 John 1:3, 7; Philemon 1:6; Philippians 2:1, 3:10; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Corinthians 1:9; Acts 2:42)

Expanded Principles of Fellowship

In seeking to glorify God through true fellowship:

We extend fellowship to fellow believers:

1. “Enter His House together” to commune with our Lord and Savior that we may grow in knowledge and faith.

(Psalm 55:14)

2.  Provide opportunities to build each other in the faith, share our trials and triumphs, and encourage each other in our walk with the Lord.

         (Philippians 3:10; Acts 2:42; Romans 12:15)

We extend fellowship to those whose ministries we support:

3.  Recognize the fellowship and partnership with those we support and send in missions and take opportunities to welcome, support, encourage, and affirm those who serve in home and foreign missions

        (Galatians 2:9)

We extend fellowship to all those God brings into our lives:

4.  Extend hospitality, engage and welcome visitors, neighbors, and the “strangers within our gates.”

        (1 John 1:3; Hebrews 13:2)

We extend fellowship to people of all abilities:

5.  Provide opportunities for those who are unable to physically worship with us to share their joys and sorrows, fears and faith with the congregation.

        (Philippians 2:1)
